Jana
Agua
Caregiver / Research Assistant
Jana has always had an affinity for animals. She found her passion for caring for animals when she was just eight years old and came across a stray kitten who still needed to be hand-fed. From then on, she was on a mission to help animals and make sure that they felt loved.
She began her career with animals as a veterinary technician while she attended college at Notre Dame De Namur University, ending her college career with a B. A. in English and a minor in Psychology. She had stepped away from the animal industry briefly to try her hand in marketing consulting, but had soon discovered that she belonged with animals.
She fondly remembers the first time she had heard about Koko at the tender age of five. She was in raptures when she discovered that the Gorilla Foundation was near her home and gained a position with GF. With her wide array of skills, she is hoping to apply them to what GF needs to become even more successful with spreading the word about wildlife conservation.
