Volunteer at a Distance
(see Job and Volunteer Opportunities for specifics)
There are many things you can do to help The Gorilla Foundation/Koko.org. As you may know, we are in the process of raising funds to create a semi-free living gorilla preserve in Hawaii. Any fundraising and/or public relations efforts you might make on behalf of The Gorilla Foundation/Koko.org and gorillas everywhere would be greatly appreciated.
Here are a few ideas you may consider:
- Provide The Gorilla Foundation/Koko.org with an introduction to a family, individual, foundation or corporation in a position to provide us with grant assistance.
- Find out if the company you work for has a corporate matching funds program to which we could apply.
- Host a reception for The Gorilla Foundation/Koko.org to introduce people to us and the work we do.
- Provide us with a mailing list of potential members.
- Distribute membership information to friends and acquaintances, or to locations that might have a special interest in our project such as schools, pets shops, veterinary offices and libraries.
- Collect orders for The Gorilla Foundation/Koko.org merchandise: bumper-stickers, T-shirts, books, etc.
- Search for out-of-print books about primates (ask us for a list) and donate them to our library.
- Place our Public Service Announcement on local stations.
- Urge the protection of gorillas.
We will be glad to supply membership coupons, posters, and information sheets for you to distribute. Of course, we also welcome your own ideas and suggestions. Thanks again for your interest.
