Penny Patterson and Koko profiled in Biography Magazine
The May 1999 issue of Biography Magazine, the printed spin-off of the Arts & Entertainment Network flagship TV series, features a profile of Doctor Penny Patterson and Koko. Entitled "Can Koko the Gorilla Really Talk?," the article was authored by Jane Meredith Adams and discusses the unique bond between Penny and the world's most famous ape. In addition, the piece includes several colored photographs by Dr. Ron Cohn, a photographic review of how apes have been portrayed by Hollywood throughout the years, and a comparison between humans and gorillas.
