EARTHQUAKE by Koko
Following the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989, Koko produced this imagery to express her reaction to the event. She used fire-like colors and shapes because she was concerned that the son of one of the Foundation's volunteers might be at home alone during the quake and become endangered by a fire.
