Dear Great Ape Supporter,

In the above video, featuring clips recorded in 1974, 1983 and 1991, Koko interacts with one of her favorite objects, a View-Master. She used to love to look at all the pictures, and replace the reels to view even more, from a very young age.

She knew exactly how to work the View-Master and was very clear about what was on-screen. When I would ask her what she was looking at, she would describe it in sign language, and I would ask her if I could see too. Her descriptions always matched what was on the View-Master screen!

This was just one of many ways Koko liked to enjoy her days, communicating via sign language, pictures, books and videos as well as being outside interacting with Nature and me.

I appreciate so much that we are now able to re-visit these days through thousands of hours of videos that my co-founder Dr. Ron Cohn took, all of which we’ve now digitized as part of our KokoArc database — thanks to your support!

Stay tuned for more “Koko Video News” every week …

Koko, Michael and Ndume’s video content has the power to save a species, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do, with your help!
