Dear Valued Supporter,

Today is World Gorilla Day!

Each year on this day, I’m reminded of how incredibly fortunate I am to have known Koko and witnessed firsthand just how intelligent and deeply emotional gorillas really are. Koko showed the world that gorillas, like us, have a profound capacity for love and connection.

But despite all we have learned, lowland gorillas like Koko are facing extinction within our lifetime. Poaching and habitat destruction are driving their numbers down at an alarming rate.

However, there is hope. We’ve been working with partners in Uganda and Cameroon to educate communities, including former poachers, showing them just how extraordinary gorillas are with our Koko Signs app.. And it’s making a difference—this education is already helping to transform poachers into protectors of these incredible animals.

But our work is far from over. As long as poaching continues, gorillas will remain at risk. This vital work is only possible through the generosity of compassionate supporters like you. Would you consider making a donation to help us continue this life-saving mission?

Your ongoing support means the world to us and to the gorillas we are striving to protect. Even a small donation can help us provide educators with the resources they need to make a lasting impact.
