Gorillas enjoy a good birthday celebration, and escaping from every day routines, as much as we do.
Ndume celebrated his 27th birthday on Oct. 13, 2008. The Gorilla Foundation’s caregivers decided to send him to the “moon” for this special occasion. They decorated his outdoor enclosure as well as his indoor suite with spacey apparatus such as rocket ships, moon rocks and alien-looking food. Ndume was thrilled, as you can see by the expressions on his face. Ndume was selected by Koko to be her life mate via video dating for good reason. He’s one of the sweetest gorillas on this planet — or any other known planet, for that matter.
