We have been getting some updates from the Cincinnati Zoo regarding Ndume’s progress. He is now living with two females, Chewie and Mara, who are half-sisters and both 24 years old.
Ndume was recently able to explore the outdoor gorilla habitat, known as Gorilla World, for the first time since his relocation this past spring. He had the naturalistic area to himself, and his new female companions will join him once he becomes comfortable with the space.
Ndume loved to be outside year-round at The Gorilla Foundation and spent many hours lying on blankets in the grass soaking up the sunshine. We are sure he was happy to be outside again.
